Self-propelled feeder wagons go from strength to strength

Although not yet commonplace in the UK, self-propelled feeder wagons are going from strength to strength in France. Lucas G’s latest self-propelled feeder wagon has the engine mounted next to the cab, making space for a rear-mounted unloading conveyor.

The Autospire 1600 has also been fitted with a Manitou cabin, four-wheel steer and hydrostatic drive with power shift.

The 1600 model has a 175hp six-cylinder Deutz-Fahr engine, twin augers and a 16m cu capacity.

The firm says the machine can process feed in 10-15 minutes. A single auger machine is also available, with a 12m cu capacity and a 140hp four-cylinder engine.
