Save £100/ha – visit Muck North West

Now in its third year, Muck North West, which takes place next week (Tuesday 16 March) at Reaseheath College in Cheshire, is going from strength to strength.

This year, organisers are confident that farmers who attend the free event will be able to save £100/ha in fertiliser costs alone, thanks to targeted advice given.

Sponsored by the Environment Agency, the event will include:

  • Live machinery demonstrations including manure spreaders, slurry incorporation, injectors, umbilical systems, trailing shoe applications to growing wheat

  • Slurry separators, pumps, presses and slurry storage including temporary and mobile storage solutions

  • Alternative slurry and manure management systems including reedbeds and bio digesters

  • Discussion forums covering the value of slurry, storage requirements, closed periods, application rates, changing legislation, practical solutions

  • Free slurry nutrient analysis – bring along your own manure sample
