Same launches 100hp Explorer and Dorado tractors
Italian tractor maker Same hopes to make serious inroads to the 100hp tractor market with a clutch of new Explorer and Dorado models.
The three biggest models under the Explorer umbrella have power ratings of 88hp, 102hp and 109hp and are powered by four-pot, Deutz-made engines. These have a redesigned cylinder head, which Same hopes will squeeze more power from the 3.9-litre block.
There are another five mid-sized models with a mix of three- and four-cylinder powerplants, as well as the three-model LD range which runs from 75-97hp. Transmissions can be either mechanical or powershift depending on your budget.

There are also four new Dorado models spreading from 75hp to 102hp, again powered by Deutz-built engines. These offer a new, bigger cab and a more logical layout of the controls.
Production is due to start In July at Same’s base in Treviglio, northern Italy.
