Updated Haith box tipper reduces potato bruising

Doncaster-based Haith has a new version of its Rota-tip box tipper, with the updated unit offering gentler handling for reduced tuber bruising.

The patented Rota-tip Pro features all-electric drives and a mechanism that allows the machine to securely handle boxes of varying heights without the risk of spillage.

On previous models, the web lid that controls the tipping process was fixed, but this has been replaced by a clever powered rotation lid that covers the top of the box just as the tipping process starts.

This gives greater control of the emptying process and reduces bruising.

The Rota-tip Pro is also some 300mm narrower than its predecessor, making it ideal for smaller grading facilities and packhouses.

Customers will pay about £45,000 for a Rota-tip Pro, with a 40% premium where specified with stainless steel components.
