Grimme Ventor harvesters get haulm topper
Grimme’s monster Ventor 4150 potato harvester can now be specced with a HT 400 haulm topper.
Designed to smash down large quantities of leggy potato haulm, the topper is said to increase throughput and reduce the risk of crop losses on the deviner web. Once cut, the haulm is distributed using a cross conveyor and spreader, with the topper folding over the machine’s intake unit for transport.

Elsewhere, the share arms now have shear bolt protection via three holes that offer varying degrees of load resistance prior to snapping, and unloading time from the 15t bunker has been reduce from 90sec to just 60sec.
The optional Speedtronic web alters the speed of the main webs in relation to that of the harvester, while a Turbo Clean setting offers automatic cleaning of the separators. The Ventor 4150 can also map crop weights across the field to give an indication of yields.
