AVR upgrades its crop handling conveyor offering

AVR has launched a new conveyor that offers potato and other root-crop growers a more flexible, user-friendly and higher-capacity option that its predecessor, the CTK.

The Mamba comes in two belt sizes, the 6.5m 80-6, primarily for the intake and delivery of crops in a handling line, and the 10.5m 80-10, better suited to loading trucks.

Carrying capacity

A wide, V-shaped belt maximises carrying capacity and minimises damage by preventing the crop from coming into contact with the frame.

The belt is driven by a drum motor in the machine’s head, with the dosing and intake height adjusted via a hydraulic pump.

The latter is relatively low, meaning the Mamba should slot under any reception hopper.

Standard frequency control allows infinite belt speed adjustment, which will be particularly useful as the receiving container reaches capacity.

Just like the rest of AVR’s crop handling range, the Mamba can be connected to the AVR Line Control circuit, syncing various machines in the line.

Options include castor wheels, extra power outlets, LED working lights and a protective cover for the conveyor belt.

Basic version

Those after a basic version can spec the Mamba with a hand pump to adjust the product discharge and intake heights and a simple electronic on/off control system with one basic speed.

A limited number of machines are available in 2024, with the Mamba set to completely replace the CTK from 2025.

Prices range from £17,633-£21,540 for the 80-6, and £18,592-£22,469 for the 80-10.
