Redrock launches new range of trailers
Northern Ireland maker Redrock Machinery used the Grassland and Muck event to launch a new range of trailers.
They range from 10.5t to 20t and are fitted as standard with a sprung drawbar, hydraulic brakes a front inspection ladder and LED lights. High-speed commercial axles are also fitted and the bogies now use 2.5in pins in bronze bushes.
Braking efficiency is a big issue in Ireland as in the UK, with the FTMA (the Irish equivalent of the AEA) trying to come to an agreement with the transport industry on improving braking standards. This could mean new trailers having to take a brake efficiency test from 2012.
Cost of the 16t version is ÂŁ10,500 and the BKT 560/45 22.5 tyres should allow it to tread lightly on the ground, especially when hauling maize or grain from the field.
