Nissan has fitted a new engine and emissions-saving AdBlue system to its latest Navara pickups.

The upgrade covers the 190hp twin-turbo and 160hp single-turbo version of the Navara’s 2.3-litre dCi diesel engine.

Nissan claims combined fuel consumption has improved to 46.3mpg in the process, up by 1.4mpg on its predecessor.

The new Euro-6 block meets emissions regs by using an selective catalytic reduction system.

It means there is an AdBlue tank, with a filler flap on the opposite side of the vehicle to the diesel tank to avoid confusion.

The Nissan Navara still boasts a 1t payload and 3.5t towing capacity

The tank will hold 17-litres of liquid, which will be enough to cover up to 7,150 miles between refills.

Gross vehicle weight has increased by 25-35kg on some models, while kerb weight has gone up by 5-38kg.

Despite the changes, the truck maintains its 1t payload and 3.5t towing capacity, and still comes with a 100,000-mile warranty.
