New John Deere dealer for Kent

West Kent has a new John Deere dealer – Burden Brothers Agri Ltd.

The appointment comes after a period of dealer disruption in the Kent/East Sussex territory.

The area’s farmers have experienced a good deal of upheaval recently with the original Deere dealer – Palmers Ag – withdrawing from the farm machinery market to concentrate on groundscare kit almost a year ago.

At that point Hampshire dealer, John A Seale, stepped in and set up a branch at Paddock Wood. But after just eight months covering the territory, the company also decided to pull out.

Burden Bros is already well-known for its huge combine breaker’s-yard on the Isle of Sheppey where second-hand parts can found to fit virtually any make and model of machine.

The family also runs a large contracting outfit, farms and second-hand machinery business.

Winning the John Deere franchise has lead to a new depot being set up at Stockbury near Sittingborne.

This will serve an area that stretches from Faversham, Tenterden and Rye in the east to the M25, Surrey/Sussex border in the west. The outfit will also sell and service Opico and Gregoire Besson cultivation kit.

Farmers are invited to visit the new branch for open days on Fri 18th & Sat 19th May where there will be a full line-up of Deere kit on display and a free hog roast.
