New Holland sells Kongskilde – 7 years after buying it

CNH’s New Holland is continuing to offload some of its farm machinery manufacturing interests by selling selected assets of the Kongskilde Agriculture business unit.

Earlier this year, New Holland sold the Overum plough range to private equity investors in Germany, who plan to revive its fortunes as an independent business.

Overum was part and parcel of Kongskilde Group’s agricultural division, which CNH acquired for New Holland in 2017 to broaden its range with selected tillage and forage products.

Kongskilde Agriculture – formally CNH Industrial Danmark A/S – with operations in Denmark and Poland continued operating in parallel under its own brand and distribution network.

A New Holland spokesperson confirmed that the Kongskilde brand has been sold to Italian manufacturer Seko Industries, which is based 40 minutes west of Venice in Italy’s agricultural machine manufacturing heartland, but has yet to reveal which product lines will continue and where they will be built.

Seko specialises in diet mixer-feeders for cattle, processors for green waste composting, and compost row turners; Kongskilde Agriculture has also built diet feeders, as well as cultivators, stone collectors, seed drills and forage products.

Since the 2017 split, Kongskilde Industries has continued to produce grain storage/handling and industrial conveying products.
