New crush and race combinations join Arrowquip range

Arrowquip has extended its Q-Catch mobile cattle handling offering with two new towable crush and race combinations – the 748 and the 7416.

Central to the system in both cases is the firm’s mid-range 74 Series crush with an infinite lock headgate and parallel squeeze that can secure the animal in any position, meaning a small calf or large bull can be worked on without the need for adjustments.

A sliding handle allows the headgate to be operated anywhere along the working side of the crush, so operators can control both it and the rear sliding door simultaneously.

Access points include full-side, horizontal-opening top and bottom doors that can be pegged together and operated as one, removable top gates, and a drop-down or removable needle access hatch for TB testing. A rubber floor is also standard.

The second element of the system is the Easy Flow Adjustable Cattle Race. In the case of the 748 this is 8ft (2.44m) long, or 16ft (4.88m) when the two sections are combined on the 7416.

Sheeted sides with removable top blinder panels eliminate distractions to keep cattle moving forward and a pull rope allows the race width to be widened or narrowed to suit the size of the animals.

An optional weighing platform fits within the race and supports Tru-Test and Gallagher load bars.

The 748 is 1,494kg and costs £17,315, while the 7416 weighs 1,882kg and is priced at £21,600, from Wise Agriculture, based in Richmond, North Yorkshire.
