NAAC farm contractor charges 2015-16

The National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC) has released its annual guide to contracting fees for the 2015-16 season.

Covering everything from ploughing and drilling to combining and baling, the NAAC Contractor Charges 2015-16 guide [PDF] helps farmers check they are paying the correct amount for contracting services.

It is also a useful tool for contractors to keep an eye on the market and remain competitive.

As always the figures have been calculated using the mid-price quoted by NAAC members based on a fuel price of 60p/litre.

Actual prices can vary considerably between regions, soil types and equipment type, but it is a good place to start.

This year prices for cultivation work have moved slightly, with heavy-land ploughing going from £25.17/acre to £25.50/acre and subsoiling from £23.24/acre to £23.80/acre.

At the other end of the season, cereals combining has gone from £34.75/acre to 35.13/acre.
