McConnel has revamped its mid-range Power Arm hedge cutters and given them the same black and yellow livery as its flagship 70- and 85-series machines.

Three ranges have been updated, starting with the dinky 45-series, which has a 4.7m reach and 45hp hydraulic pump. The 55-series is the next step up and a direct replacement for the well-known PA93. Two models are now offered and reach has been extended to 5.4m – both are fitted with a 55hp, 100 litre/minute hydraulic pump.

With 5.3m or 5.8m reach, the 60-series cutters are the largest of McConnel’s mid-range machines and are compatible with the firm’s optional Revolution joystick controller.

A new naming convention has been adopted across the ranges, which puts the reach of the machine first and the horsepower second. This means the PA5155, for example, has a reach of 5.1m and the hydraulic motor develops 55hp.

One model: PA4745

McConnel says the PA4750 is designed for both hedge cutting and grass maintenance and is designed for farmers, local government, and amenity specialists. It is compatible with most tractors from 50hp.
