Anglia Woodfuels’ new truck-mounted Heizohack HM14-800KL wood chipper, which cost more than £238,000 and was part-funded by a DEFRA grant, aims to extend the firm’s contract wood-chipping service to farmers and other rural members around the eastern region. The new machine can chip 30t/hour whereas the older trailed machine manages about 10t/hour. The new chipper can also handle trunk diameters up to 80cm, including hardwoods.

Both woodchippers are available for hire to members of Anglia Woodfuels. The first year’s membership subscription and joining fee is £175 with a £75 annual subscription thereafter. The new woodchipper with contractor costs about £1100 a day to hire, with the capability of chipping up to 180t in six hours.
