Landquip shows neat 24m sprayer for the JCB 4000
Knight wasn’t the only sprayer-maker at Lamma with a demount unit for the JCB 4000 tractor. Suffolk firm Landquip was showing a spider frame attachment system with four quick-hitch ball joints that allow the tank to be attached or detached in just 10 minutes.
It’s all thanks to the JCB’s hydraulic suspension, says Landquip, which can move up and down to make it easy for the tank to come off.
Tri-fold booms with 24m, 30m, 32m, 34m to 36m widths are available on the rear-folding booms and the whole thing folds neatly down to 2.5m. The Pommier aluminium booms weigh just 480kg, says the company, and can use JCB’s 60kph road speed to get swiftly from A to B.

With 2,500 litres in the rear tank and 1,900 litres in the front, the sprayer can carry 4,400 litres, which makes it a viable unit for both farmers and contractors who want to benefit from high road speeds.Â
The latest electronic kit includes GPS individual nozzle section switching, Poziflow continuous recirculation and GPS variable liquid fertiliser application. As well as section switching, the company also offers its Seletron twin or quad nozzle-by-nozzle spray quality control, which automatically selects the right nozzle to apply liquid at the optimum pressure.
A 24m unit costs about £45,000.  Â
