Lamma 2016: Horsch offers single-disc trailed drill

A trailed drill with single-disc coulters for direct sowing joins the Horsch range at Lamma.

Unusually for a disc direct drill, the Avatar SD’s coulter assemblies are arranged in two rows, with the rubber coulter arm suspension derived from the Pronto drill having been beefed up to generate 200kg of pressure for soil penetration and consistent sowing depth.

Each assembly comprises a straight disc to cut through trash, a smaller angled opening disc and seed coulter, and an angled steel press wheel to give targeted consolidation of the slot.

Proven components from the Pronto DC drills are used for the metering mechanism and 1,500, 3,500 and 12,000-litre seed hoppers fitted to the 4m, 6m and 12m sizes.
