Kuhn’s new baler packs 25% more straw

A new high-density packing system is available on Kuhn’s LSB 1290 baler. The novel twin packer plunger is said to increase bale density by up to 25%, according to the French company, but it still needs the same 200hp on the front. Kuhn ambitiously claims the new baler can produce 500kg, 120x90x240 bales from dry straw, but it comes at a price – up 25% over the standard version.

Kuhn has also added larger 19, 22 and 25cu m twin-auger vertical mixers to its livestock-orientated range. The new ones are powered by a 247hp Iveco motor, instead of the 146hp Deere in the smaller versions, and it is mated to a hydrostatic drive that takes top speed to 40kph.
