Holmer TransCart prototype beet chaser gets demo
Holmer’s TransCart beet chaser, on demo this week at Great Abingdon, Cambridgeshire, is one of just two prototypes in Europe.
It has a huge capacity of 20t to match Holmer’s T3-40 harvester and an empty weight of 10t. You’ll need 250hp up front too.

The chassis is from German trailer maker Fliegl and, unusually, the tyres are of different sizes – 710/50 R26 on the front and 750/60 R30 on the rear.
The elevator can discharge in about a minute and the side delivery means that high clamps can be made to bring a smile to operators of Maus-type loader. The chaser can also be converted to handling maize for biogas plants, something that Holmer has been testing last autumn.
At £85,000 the TransCart will obviously appeal only to large contractors. It’s brought in by Agrifac UK.
