Higher capacity Traileyre from Ritchie

The ever-growing market for bale chasers has a new member. Scottish firm Ritchie Agriculture hopes to make high-throughput bale collection a one-man job with its 10/20 bale Traileyre. The new model sees a two-tier system capable of carrying 10 1t square bales or 20 0.35t round straw bales without the need for a telehandler.

Made in Ritchie’s two UK factories, the trailer is designed to lift square or round bales straight from the field and transport them to the stack.

The tandem axle trailer is equipped with 550/45-22.5 flotation tyres to minimise damage to fields, with the option of air/ABS or hydraulic brakes. Stronger lift arms and guide tubes on the arms make for easier lining-up of bales while protecting the frame.

Ritchie suggests using a bale accumulator to pair the bales before picking them up, loading from back to front to keep the trailer stable and maintain good visibility. The Traileyre is set to be available from April onwards at a cost of around ÂŁ20,000.

Ritchie Agriculture will be at LAMMA 2012.
