County Carlow-based Hi-Spec Engineering has developed a new chassis-mounted dribble bar that extends the firm’s existing range of slurry equipment.

It is expecting increased demand in application kit as the price of synthetic fertiliser continues to rise and farmers look to slurry as a source of nitrogen.

The company’s latest dribble bar weighs just 520kg and has a working width of 7.5m, with the 30 flat hose outlets, spaced 25cm apart, fed by a Hi-Spec distributor with integrated stone trap.

It requires a single double-acting spool, and is operated from a diverter control to change between lifting/lowering the arms and operating the distributor and gate valve.

The fully galvanised frame folds into a neat 2.55m-wide parcel for transport, and each arm features a sprung break-back mechanism to prevent damage in the event of collision.

It is priced at £12,857.
