A new crop lifter design with a thumb-operated mechanism for two height settings and speedy attachment and removal has been introduced for Schumacher combine harvester cutterbars.

The Arista has the manufacturer’s established WaveTrack skid with a W-shaped profile said to minimise friction wear, and a slim and closed end profile to the lifting rail to minimise hang-ups when reversing the crop intake.

It fits all Schumacher knife guards with a single-handed action that takes barely two seconds to locate and latch each lifter in place, or around 14 seconds to fit five lifters, resulting in a significant time saving for operators preparing for a day’s combining in laid crops.

The latching mechanism is also quickly adjusted to one of two height settings to suit different crop conditions.

And the QuickFit design makes it suitable for fitting to ground-hugging flexible headers equipped with skid shoes, which tend to prevent regular lifters from being fitted.

The device should be available from UK stockists soon at list prices of around £21, plus £2.50 per position for the initial fitting kit.
