McCormick recruits new south Lincs tractor dealer

McCormick has appointed Stamford Tractors as its new dealer for south Lincolnshire.

The firm has held various tractor franchises, the most recent as an outlet for Renault. In 2004 the company lost this due to Claas’ takeover of the French tractor manufacturer and the associated reorganisation of the UK dealer network.

Until now Stamford Tractors has been without a mainstream tractor franchise. It will fill the gap left by the Bourne branch of McCormick dealer Johnson Bros which has recently closed.

Taking on four support staff from Johnson’s Bourne operation, the new outlet will provide sales, service and parts back-up for an area stretching from Sleaford in the north to beyond Peterborough in the south.

Johnson Bros will continue to serve farmers in north west Norfolk from its base at Fakenham.
