GYS releases flexible voltage welder

French welding equipment manufacturer GYS has launched a new flexible voltage welder.

The GYSMI TIG 207 HF can operate on any voltage in the range of 85V to 265V and combined with its power factor correction (PFC) is also capable of dealing with unreliable power supplies, either from a generator or long extension leads.

The single phase, 230V machine is rated 200A on 230V or 160A on 110V and incorporates an advanced setting designed for professionals welding mild or stainless steel, aluminium and copper both in the workshop and in the field.

Other features include three AC/DC modes – standard AC and DC TIG settings, a pulsed TIG mode and spot TIG mode plus five memory settings. There are adjustable pulse settings as well as an adjustable down slope function which automatically releases the torch at the end of the weld.

The 207 HF can also be used for MMA welding and features adjustable hot start, arc force for improved penetration and to avoid electrode sticking as well as an AVC (antidust ventilation corridor) air cooling system that draws clean air through the back of the machine, reducing dust and dirt contamination of the machine’s electronic components. It costs £1487.
