Grassland & Muck 2014: Strautmann displays bigger forage wagon
There were plenty of forage wagons at this year’s Grassland & Muck, but almost certainly the biggest of them was Strautmann’s Tera-Vitesse CFS520i.
Aimed mainly at contractors, the new model can hold 50cu m without compression or a stonking 95cu m with medium compression with the rear door latched back. Overall length is 12m.

This is the company’s first tri-axle model, says David Parsons from UK importer Reco. The front and rear axles steer hydraulically and a bank of 50 knives gives chop length down to 35mm.
There’s also a new CFS accelerator roller to move the grass through the knife bank squarely.
Pickup width is 2.1m and the cost of the whole unit is about £150,000.
