Agritechnica 2023: McHale debuts six- and eight-rotor Propel tedders

The ever-expanding grass kit range offered by McHale now includes tedders for the first time.

Both mounted and trailed versions are on offer, with the pictured Propel M6-770 covering the former category.

This has six rotors across a 7.7m working width, each of which is fitted with double-hooked tines that are designed to lift the crop cleanly off the ground and reduce the risk of contamination.

Sitting on a trailed chassis, the larger T8-1020 offers eight of the same 1.58m diameter rotors that cover a working width of 10.2m.

Both implements are designed to be run with a low 480rpm pto speed which, combined with the large rotor diameter, maximises crop lift and gives an even spread over a long distance, says McHale.

Power is sent down a heavy-duty driveline with greaseable universal joints and there’s an overload clutch to prevent damage should they encounter obstacles.
