Sima 2022: Vortex turbine straw blower added to Emily range

French firm Emily has welcomed a trailed turbine straw blower to its range, with the ability to distribute livestock feeds and bedding.

The Vortex machine features a new autonomous management system that continually collects data in order to control the speed of the belt, clutch and shredder disengagement.

It manages this at more than 200 times the speed of human reaction time and adjusts the components in just 0.005secs.

The maker says this reduces the risks of blockages and mechanical breaks, and also puts less stress on the components when spreading dense or difficult forage – of which it can handle all main types, including hay, silage, maize and grass, in both rectangular and round bale formats.

Other new functions include a set of knives in the rear gate, which can cut twine, net and wrap from the bales.
