Quicke unveils new silage handling range

Quicke has launched a new three-model range of Silocut silage handling implements.

The smallest of the range, the M+ model, is ideal for use on front end and compact loaders, and on mid-sized telehandlers.

In the middle of the range, the L+ variant is available with either forged or profiled-cut tines for cutting clamp silage and splitting bales.

The maker says this should handle most bale sizes, but can also be used on loose feeds.

The XL+, despite its bigger proportions, is largely the same as the L+, acting as a shear grab for splitting bales and cutting clamp silage.

The L+ and XL+ models are also available with Quicke’s bale wrap handler.

After the bale has been split, this mechanism snatches the silage wrap and net, and holds onto it.

This means that the bale can be unwrapped, split and placed into feeders or a mixer wagon without the operator having to get out of the cab, saving time and improving safety.

For farmers feeding in narrow yards or tricky spaces, the “Tufftine” Silocut models can also be fitted with a push-out mechanism for unloading silage, which the makers say is also useful for loading diet feeders.
