New suspension on Claas Disco mower
New Active Float suspension features on the Claas Disco 3100FC front-mounted mower-conditioner.
Already proven on the Disco Contour rear-mounted machines, Active Float replaces steel springs with two single-acting hydraulic cylinders connected to four pressure accumulators, which transfer weight to the tractor and so reduce friction and the power needed to push the mower along.
Claas says that apart from cutting more evenly and reducing skid plate wear, this can reduce fuel consumption by up to 20%.
The new P-Cut cutterbar has its discs mounted in a high strength, sealed double tapered roller bearing assembly and are set lower than before for a cleaner cut and improved crop flow.
