Simon Richard adds 3.6m and 4.6m Sauerburger rotary mowers to range

The importer of Sauerburger rotary mowers for pasture, stubbles and other vegetation management tasks has expanded the range of machines available in Britain.
Simon Richard took on the German product range after former supplier Woods withdrew from the European market.

Having introduced the wide working Condor heavy-duty flex-wing mower last year, four newcomers cater for farmers and contractors with different needs.
The Sauerburger 2515 Medium Duty Flex Wing, priced at £26,260, cuts 4.6m of vegetation with each pass and operates behind tractors of up to 235hp driving the three spindles, each fitted with two free-swinging blades.
Slip clutches protect the gearboxes and driveshafts from impacts, which are also mitigated by the swinging design of the blades.
Its 2512 Flex Wing sibling covers 3.6m – a width said to be unique among such machines – cutting grass, weeds and light brush up to 5cm thick behind tractors up to 175hp – the list price is £22,497.
Smooth deck
Both models feature a smooth deck surface to discourage any build-up of material – around the gearboxes especially – with the frame on the underside where it forms baffles resulting in a double-chop effect.
For smoother operation on rough ground, and when running on the road, the rear-mounted wheels are supported on spring suspension.
Tough but narrower mowers are also among the newcomers, namely the Sauerburger 2410, a 3m twin spindle machine for tractors up to 125hp, and the single-spindle 1.8m 1606 and 2.1m 1607 taking up to 100hp.
The 2410 is described as an “extreme duty” machine for its size, with the effects of counter-rotating spindles, 11cm up-lift blades, a deep deck skirt and adjustable tail-wheel brackets contributing to a thorough cutting process. List price is £11,692.
Material up to 7.5cm in diameter is the ultimate target for the single-spindle pair, which deploy two swinging blades to get the job done; £7,667 is the retail price for the 1606.
