Kuhn adds swath grouper to triple mowers

A new mower conditioner with integrated swath grouper has joined Kuhn’s growing range of disc mowers.

The FC 9330 can cut a 9.3m-wide run and bring all the grass from the three mowing units into a single row, which can be adjusted from 1.8-3.6m to suit the pick-up width on the following baler or forager.

Operators have the option to lift the groupers out of work independently to leave cut and conditioned grass spread. The groupers now sit on a new frame and support arm setup, which makes the unit more compact and stable when compared with earlier models, we’re told.

The 1m-wide grouping conveyor belts are driven by two hydraulic pumps supplied by a 55-litre tank, that is integrated into the main frame. All other hydraulic functions – folding, lifting and lowering – are taken care of by the tractor’s supply.

The two rear units each measure 3.5m, while the front-mounted mower is 3.1m wide. A 420mm overlap on each side helps eliminate striping on bends. The new FC mower is Isobus ready or can be run using Kuhn’s CCI 800 or 1000 control screens, alongside the CCI A3 joystick handle.

Prices are yet to be confirmed, but 210hp is needed on the front as the groupers don’t require a great deal more power to run.
