Krone bulks out its 4m front-mounted mower range
Krone has unveiled two new variations of its existing 4m-wide, front-mounted EasyCut F 400 CV Fold.
The first of these simply goes without the CV conditioner so, when combined with the EasyCut B 1000 rear butterfly, it offers a working width of 10m and an adjustable overlap of 57cm on each side.
It has a 45cm-diameter swathing auger and, like the original model, gets the firm’s novel folding bed.

This is operated hydraulically from the cab via a slewing gearbox, neatly bringing it to 3m wide for the road – unlike the rigid cutterbar of the CR.
It has the same 4.04m working width as the folding version but can only be reduced to an inconvenient-sounding 3.9m in transport mode.
Two 25cm-diameter polyurethane conditioning rollers are standard, designed primarily for lucerne, but buyers have the option of speccing steel M-Rolls that Krone claims offer intensive but, paradoxically, gentle conditioning.
These will apparently hasten the wilting process with relatively low risk of breaking up the crop.
The EasyCut F 400 CR will only be available as a factory order, as the market is expected to be fairly niche in the UK.
Both new mowers require about 100hp to run, weigh roughly 1,700kg and run on a 1,000-speed pto.
Prices are yet to be announced but, as a guide, the existing EasyCut F 400 CV Fold is listed at £45,625.
