Higher spec DM butterfly mowers join Massey range

Wider-working butterfly mowers built to a heavier-duty specification for large producers and contractors have extended the already comprehensive Massey Ferguson DM range.

In base spec, the twin deck DM 9614 TL with a working width of 9.6m can be had without a conditioner for users who want maximum cutting width for the tractor power they have available.

But the majority will be supplied with MF’s KC steel pigtail tine conditioning unit, which is a standard fitment on the 10.1m DM 10114 TL, although the RC interlocking roller conditioning unit is an alternative for mowing and processing especially delicate, leafy crops.

Extra tech

Top-spec Pro versions feature isobus control electronics for most functions and give access to GPS guidance-based automated features that ease the operator’s workload.

These optional add-ons include section control (£757) to lift the front mower and two rear units selectively to avoid disrupting swaths at straight and angled headlands, and automated side-shift for the front mower-conditioner (£1,822) to avoid leaving missed strips in curves and over undulating ground.

The Pro package also enables a £4,589 electric adjustment option that allows operators to fine tune KC tine conditioner “aggressiveness” on the move, and Pro-spec is standard on versions with hydraulically driven belt conveyors to lay a single swath for efficient chopping and baling.

Prices kick off at £42,983 for a 9.6m non-conditioning machine or £67,821 and £70,430 for the two sizes with either of the crop conditioning kits.

Isobus-equipped Pros start at £75,859 and £78,468, while swathing models with the belt conveyors are priced at £105,603 and £108,212, respectively.
