RS Agri shrinks trailed Sabre bale shredder to useful 3cu m
RS Agri has added a new entry-level model to its range of trailed bale processors.
With its modest 3cu m capacity, the Sabre 300 is a more compact and manoeuvrable alternative to the Basingstoke-based firm’s 600 and 900 machines.
It can be used to shred straw for loose bedding and feed both baled and clamped silage, with a single 1.8m round bale or a square of up to 1.2×1.8m loaded either by a tractor/telehandler or via the drop-down rear door.

Once on board, a 1.3m-wide floor conveyor feeds material into the 42-blade shredding beater.
As it does so, the bale tumbles against a stationary comb, which helps maintain a consistent flow that speeds up the discharge rate.
A six-paddle flywheel then blows it out the 270deg swivelling chute to a distance of 20m or more.
Controls include an in-cab box and the ability to work the rear door and floor conveyor from the back of the machine, which might save time when removing net, wrap or string.
RS Agri suggests pairing the Sabre 300 with a tractor that can put out at least 80hp from the pto and 35-60 litres/min through the hydraulic lines.
List price is £24,000, plus any optional extras requested.
These include a wide-angle pto, larger wheels, mudguards, a rear-view camera and LED flashing lights.
