Lamma 2025: Auto concentrate feeding with Hanskamp Mobile

The solar-powered FeedStation Mobile from Dutch firm Hanskamp will automatically serve a preset concentrate ration to individual dairy and beef cows and calves in the field, giving stock farmers more control over nutrition provision.

The standalone system functions without a grid connection, instead harvesting enough energy via photovoltaic panels on the hopper lids to maintain the charge of a battery bank enclosed in a side compartment.

It is designed to be towed to the field on its single-axle chassis, before being stabilised with a set of four drop-down legs.

Feed can then be loaded into the 2,230-litre bunker, which is available with a central divider to carry two different ration mixes.

As standard it comes with a pair of feed stations, but there is scope to add a couple more on the opposite side to accommodate four animals simultaneously.

However, grub is only sent down a chute and into one of the anti-spill, stainless-steel troughs once the animal has been identified by its ear tag or collar.

Consumption is recorded by the firm’s Spider computer and, thanks to a 4G connection, owners can monitor this through a smartphone or tablet.

Though the outfit is primarily designed for outdoor use, it can also be rigged up in a barn and plugged into a mains power supply.
