Win up to £500 for your farm machinery invention
Time is running out to enter Farmers Weekly’s annual Farm Inventions Competition and be in with a chance of bagging a share of the £2,550 prize pot.
As ever, we’re on the hunt for the best time-, money- or hassle-saving creations so, if you’ve come up with a novel way of making life easier on the farm, it’s time to get involved.

Entries aren’t restricted to perfectly welded drills with snakes of hydraulic hoses and brain-boggling combinations of pulleys and sprockets, though – it could be something that you knocked together in a couple of spare hours on a rainy afternoon.
Several of the entries from the past couple of years have subsequently been taken on by manufacturers, so it also serves as a great opportunity to get your invention in the shop window.
Who is eligible to enter?
The terms are pretty simple – it just needs to have been built by a farmer or contractor and have a use on the farm.
What are the prizes?
The winners of each category – simple, intermediate and complex – take home £500, runners-up get £250, and there’s £100 for third place.
How do I enter?
Email brief details of what the machine is and how it works to oliver.mark@markallengroup.com, including a couple of decent-quality pictures and a contact phone number.
Alternatively, you can get in touch via Farmers Weekly’s Facebook account. The closing date is 24 January.
