Techneat Engineering has added a spinning bird scarer to its range as a cheaper and quieter alternative to a gas gun.

The Rotorscare device has a red-and-white vane designed to whirl in a relatively light breeze, apparently making for an effective aviary deterrent.

It comes as a fully assembled unit, meaning the zinc-plated base simply need stomping into the ground ready for use.

It is available as a single item or in packs of five; the latter costs £235 excluding VAT.
