Making the contents of bulky farm tyre technical data books available on a mobile device app has made it much easier for farmers to get guidance on inflation pressures for tractors and equipment.

Now a number of leading manufacturers have joined forces to combine their product data in a single app, allowing machine operators to find information on multiple brands, types and sizes of tyre.

The Agro Tyre Pressure app, available for iOS and Android devices, has been developed under the auspices of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA).

It provides access to the load, speed and inflation pressure databases of several manufacturers.

Agricultural tractor, harvester, trailer and implement tyres are included for Bridgestone, Continental, Cultor, Firestone, Klebér, Maximo, Michelin, Mitas, Nokian, Taurus, Trelleborg and Vredestein products.

Managing inflation pressures, according to load and working speeds, using manufacturer’s data, will optimise performance – in terms of traction, self-cleaning and flotation – as well as the wear rate and durability of tyres.
