John Deere makes it easier for owners to repair tractors

Additional resources making it easier for owners and independent workshops to carry out maintenance and repairs on John Deere equipment are being made available.

The move largely expands repair options in the US, where the “right to repair” has become a contentious issue, but new functions are also available on Deere’s European Repair & Maintenance Information website,

Entering a serial number should give access to the John Deere Bookstore, where operator manuals can be viewed and technical manuals purchased, and Service Gard details the availability of special tools.

ReadyTo provides diagnostic and repair instructions, while the function of Partscatalog is self-explanatory.

In the UK and Ireland, John Deere equipment owners can already purchase genuine parts through John Deere’s online shop, while Customer Service Advisor provides free digital manuals for clearing and updating codes, reading diagnostics data and performing limited calibrations.

Also new is the integration of the European RMI into the John Deere Operations Center, the cloud-based system for machine data recording and farm enterprise management.
