Lamma 2016: Amazone drill gets new controls

Control and monitoring of seed drills by Isobus electronics will be a new highlight from Amazone at Lamma.

The Cirrus 03 cultivating disc trailed seed drill and the AD-P mounted power harrow drill combination are the first in the Amazone range to have this facility, which can be operated using any Isobus-compliant terminal, including the company’s own Amatron 3, CCI 100 and Amapad units.

The company says clear, recognisable symbols make the system easy to use and three operators can set up their own profiles with screen layouts and functions displayed as they wish.

Applications including GPS-Switch partial width shut-off and Geo map-based seed rate adjustment are available, and with the CCI 100 terminal, tramlines will be laid correctly even if the drill operates in lands to avoid tight headland turns.

Using Isobus also allows free configuration of compliant joysticks such as Amazone’s AmaPilot and use of the company’s TwinTerminal package, which places a small display close to the metering system for quicker and easier calibration.
