KRM launches 15m-wide Carré Pressius comb harrow

With a wider than usual range of tine pressure adjustment, the Carré Pressius added to KRM’s product line is designed primarily for harrowing and weeding in delicate and robust crops alike across a range of soil surface conditions.

Available in widths from 1.8m to 15m, the mounted implement runs on fixed wheels at the front and castor wheels at the rear to provide a stable base, with height adjustment available to clear more mature crops and allow variation in tine angle.

A light touch – low tine pressure and a shallow angle – should suit weed control in easy-going and delicate young crops, while cranking up the pressure and setting a more aggressive angle of attack is more effective when harrowing seed-beds or weeding pre-emergence, as well as tackling well-rooted in-crop weeds.

The 8mm steel tines with coil springs are attached to the frame in six rows using a glass fibre reinforced composite assembly, this arrangement being designed for high mechanical resistance and durability, says Carré.

It also facilitates quick replacement of worn or broken tines without using any tools.

Hydraulic adjustment from the tractor cab can be used on the move to fine-tune tine pressure from just 100g to 5kg to suit different soil conditions and weeds.

KRM lists a five-section 12.2m Pressius with 438 tines at £49,360.
