Amazone reduces metal wear on new Teres 200 plough

Fast ploughing without increased costs due to metal wear is promised for a patented mouldboard shin fitted as standard on Amazone’s latest mounted plough, the 200hp-rated Teres 200.

The shin on the SpeedBlade plough bodies is described as extra-large and takes the brunt of abrasive pressure in work.

Normally, says Amazone, as ploughing speed is increased from, say, 6kph to 10kph, the point at which wear pressure is greatest shifts rearwards towards the centre of the mouldboard.

But with the SpeedBlade, that pressure point remains on the enlarged shin, reducing the frequency of mouldboard replacement, and other elements of the design are said to reduce drag and the likelihood of crop residue becoming caught up on the body.

High spec

Several solid and slatted versions are available for the new plough range, which comes in a four-furrow size – with the option to add another furrow – and a high specification including hydraulic front furrow width and overall working width adjustment of 30-50cm or 33-55cm per body depending upon the variant.

AutoAdapt changes the front furrow width automatically with any change of overall width, but without affecting the pull point or angle between the plough and the lower link cross shaft.

Mechanical or hydraulic depth adjustment can be chosen, as can shear bolts or hydraulic auto reset leg protection, which features some sideways as well as upwards deflection.

At the core of the Teres 200 is a 10mm box section 120x120mm beam turning on a 120mm hollow shaft with two bearings of the same size, which provides a neat route for hydraulic hoses.

A four-furrow Teres 200V with shear-bolt leg protection is priced at £32,960 while a four-plus-one configuration VS with auto reset comes in at £42,605.

For Amazone’s larger Teres 300 and Cayros XMS mounted ploughs, an integral furrow press attached to the beam is now available through co-operation with Dutch manufacturer VSS.

Its furrow press, comprising 710mm rings arranged line astern alongside the plough bodies, is said to be easier to handle than a trailed press – although Amazone continues to supply Tigges units of this type – and allows ploughing and pressing up to field boundaries.
