Kuhn goes large with new 12.5m Optimer cultivator
© Kuhn Growers with serious horsepower at their disposal can potentially cut down on tractor wheelings with Kuhn’s biggest Optimer stubble cultivator.
As such, the 12.5m-wide 12500 L is most likely to appeal to the controlled-traffic fraternity and comes armed with 510mm discs – 100 of them in total – across two rows.
These are designed to work between 3cm and 10cm deep, with their work consolidated by a 550mm “double U” roller that should cope with a wide range of soil types.

The company suggests matching it with a tractor of at least 350hp.
The new model sits alongside the 9m 9000 and 12m 12000 as part of a refreshed range of Optimer cultivators.
Updates across the board include a hydraulic stand to replace the manual version, a reworked folding/unfolding sequence operated via a single spool, and a “steady control” feature to maintain uniform disc depth across the full width.
List price of the 12500 L is £131,736.
