Kuhn extends range of one-pass Performer Select cultivators
Kuhn has sandwiched its sole Performer Select single-pass, disc-and-tine cultivator with two new models.
The 3000 (3m) and 5000 (5m) sit either side of the existing 4m version, tripling the number of width options in the firm’s entry-level range.
Despite their ‘budget’ tag, the Selects’ soil-working components are largely identical to those of the pricier Performer 1000 series, but for simpler controls and a more limited specification.

As such, working depth adjustment is via a manual, mechanical system, they get sprung NSM leg protection rather than the fancier NSH hydraulic setup.
There’s also a 600mm HD or Double U rear roller instead of the 700mm offering on the Performer 1000 series.
Business starts with two banks of 510mm-diameter discs that will chop and incorporate residue through the top 10cm of soil.
Trailing these are four rows of curved tines designed to mix and lift ground down to a maximum depth of 35cm. These can be fitted with either 80mm or lower disturbance 50mm points.
At the back is a set of levelling discs that work ahead of the packer roller to leave a drill-ready finish, and there’s also space to mount a seeding unit for cover crop establishment.
As a guide, the existing Performer 4000 Select requires a minimum of 240hp to hit a target working speed of between 8 and 10kph.
The Performer 3000 Select is priced at £58,505; going to 5m takes the figure to £92,460.
