Hydraulic break-back for Amazone Ultra stubble cultivator

A new version of Amazone’s Cenius tractor-mounted stubble cultivator sports a hydraulic break-back mechanism for the heavy-duty tines to protect the frame and other components from sub-surface impacts.

The compression coil spring system of the current C-Mix Super tine has a fixed trip pressure of some 600kg,

By comparison, the C-Mix Ultra mechanism can be set anywhere between 500-800kg to cater for a wide range of soil types, impact risk and conditions.

Until now, the Cenius 3003 Series stubble busting and mixing cultivators have been available in 3m, 3.5m and 4m widths as the Cenius Special.

They are quipped with 2,500kg-rated shear bolts, and in Super form with steel spring break-back.

The Cenius Ultra comes in 3m and 3.5m widths for now, with essentially the same tine assembly as the Super but with the coil spring replaced by a hydraulic cylinder.

These are interconnected to central accumulators, with the system pressure – and therefore break-back force – set at the front of the headstock where the operator can see a pressure gauge from the tractor seat.

Staggered rows

With all tine types, the Cenius deploys them in three rows in a staggered formation.

This provides generous trash clearance and a choice of share and wing combinations to suit different soils and conditions, and the end result required.

Beyond the tines are aggressively angled dished and scalloped discs designed to mix residue into the top soil, then a choice of finishing rollers to complete the job while also providing depth regulation.

This is adjusted manually or hydraulically.

Prices amount to £30,425 for a 3m Cenius 3003 Ultra and £34,175 for the rigid 3.5m version, both complete with hydraulic depth adjustment, a 600mm DW steel disc roller, and LED lighting.
