Amazone sells its first Tigges press to Sussex farm

Titch Hill Farm in Worthing, Sussex, has taken delivery of the first Amazone Tigges press in the UK, where it is being paired with a 3m Centaya Special power harrow combi drill.

Amazone’s tie-up with Tigges, the German packer and roller specialist, has gone under the radar since it was announced in 2021.

Single and double-ring presses are available, both of which can be front-mounted on a pull-type linkage to break clods and consolidate ploughed ground ahead of a drill.

These are offered with 700mm or 900mm cast rings in a range of profiles and shoulder widths to suit different soil types.

There are also models designed to fit direct to mounted ploughs from three to six furrows.

And, for bigger semi-mounted implements, working widths extend to 4.65m.

Where press width exceeds 3m, Amazone offers a hydraulically actuated system to swivel it into an end-on position for road transport.
