Vaderstad pulls the wraps off new 12m Inspire drill
Vaderstad has launched a brace of 12m drills as part of its new high-output Inspire range.
They feature plenty of familiar components, including the Spirit coulter system and Tempo L frame, but the lack of cultivation elements means they should be much easier to pull – the company suggests 275hp should be adequate for working at up to 15kph.
The Inspire 1200S is the seed-only version and carries a 5,000-litre hopper, while the 1200C seed-and-fert option has a 7,200-litre tank, making it one of the largest in its category. This is split 70/30, with the two products mixed into the same airstream and dropped into the soil together.

Seeding output is controlled in eight 1.5m sections, each with its own Fenix III metering unit and distribution head, and managed via the firm’s iPad-based E-Control system.
The double-disc coulters, borrowed from the well-established Spirit range, are spaced at 12.5cm, and there is the option of mounting a lightweight following harrow at the back.
In transport mode, the machine folds back into a 3m-wide, 4m-long package and it can be fitted with an air brake system.
Order books for both models will open from October next year, when the 1200S is set to go into production. Buyers of the 1200C will face a longer wait, with the first ones expected to leave the factory in April 2023.
Tempo L 16-24 Central Fill
Vaderstad has also introduced a new member of the Tempo L family. Available from the end of 2022, the Tempo L Central Fill comes with either 16 or 24 rows that can be spaced at anything from 450mm to 762mm.
It has the same hopper and metering system as the Inspire 1200C, but new features include an extended drawbar, hydraulic movement of the support wheels, and a side platform that enables access to both hopper compartments.
Sales will begin in June 2022, with the machine going into production in December of the same year.
The Inspire 1200C, 1200S, and the Tempo L 16-24 Central Fill will all be showcased at the Agritechnica show in Hanover, Germany, in February.
