KRM Sola SM-P offers no-till tine seeding at 8m working width

KRM has introduced its widest direct tine drill yet, with the Spanish-built Sola SM-P topping out at 8m.

Just like its narrower relatives, this is fitted with tungsten carbide-tipped SM coulters, which will work directly into unmoved soil, min-till seed-beds and ploughed land.

A total of 32 of these are fitted to its wingspan – giving a 25cm spacing – and they are staggered over four rows to maintain free trash flow.

Sowing depth is set centrally, with wing support wheels helping to keep it consistent over undulating ground, and each coulter has a sprung auto-reset system for impact protection.

Behind the coulters sits a combination following harrow with straight and angled tines that level the surface and help achieve good seed-to-soil contact.

The drill runs both a hydraulic fan and a pressurised hopper, with seed passing through a stainless-steel metering system that offers rate adjustment from 2 to 400kg/ha.

This is electronically driven with isobus control and is set up ready for functions such as auto on/off, section control and variable rate seeding.

Both left and right half-width shut-off comes as standard, which can be controlled manually or automatically.

Retail price of the new KRM 800/32 SM-P is £63,240.
