Compact A-Series from Valtra
VALTRA HAS launched a new range of small, lightweight tractors.
Three models, spanning 74hp to 98hp, make up the new A-series range which, by the company‘s own admission, has been designed as a lower specification alternative for stockmen.
The A-series was first introduced in 2002 to replace outgoing 100-series models. The latest versions receive upgrades in styling, controls, cab options and maintenance access.
The first and most outwardly apparent change is the re-modelled bonnet – this brings the tractors into line with their larger siblings and has helped to improve engine access.
The one-piece hood lifts on gas-struts to give uncluttered admission to service points.
The A-series models are available with a choice of three cabs – Standard, Forestry and Lo-line, which reduces the tractor‘s overall height by over 15cm (6in).
Inside the cab levers have been swapped for switches – the differential lock is now engaged by a rocker switch and buyers now have the option of Valtra‘s HiShift electronic clutch.
This allows operators to control the clutch and make changes via a button mounted on the main gear-lever.
All three models are powered by turbocharged Sisu Diesel engines which, although the same in concept to previous power plants, are now compliant with Tier II emissions legislation.
