Cereals 2024: Boss Box front weight toolbox offers 3.5t of ballast
Front weight toolboxes don’t come much bigger or heavier than the new Boss Box from GT Agricultural Engineering.
Empty, the hulking unit tips the scales at 1t and the addition of underslung wafer weights allows it to be ballasted up to 3.5t.
Importantly, says owner George Merrison, these don’t have any impact on the carrying capacity of the box, so drivers don’t have to turf out all their gear in order to fit them.

Storage comes in the form of two lockable side lockers and a large central compartment with a full-width, drop-down door.
For the most organised of individuals, an additional four-drawer storage unit can also be added.
Prices for the main box with lights start at £4,500, with each 500kg steel weight adding £1,100.
That puts the price of a fully laden 3.5t box at £7,800, plus £450 for the drawer unit.
Also new from the firm is a heavy-duty, close-coupled wheel track eradicator with hydraulic Metcalfe NG legs that comes in at £8,500, and a £750 set of link arm-mounted mudguards.
