Leicestershire farmer Michael Summers reckons he’s sold several hundred of his clever Grainsafe grain temperature probes over the two years that he’s been making them.

He’s now added a useful extra module that lets you see theactual temperature of the grain as well as a graphic that shows whether the tendency of the grain is to increase in temperature or to drop.

That means you can see if there’s a problem right at the start when it’s relatively easy to do something about it.

In fact, the probe takes a reading every five seconds so there’s no danger of overlooking things. The units can be moved around easily and they go for about six months between chargings.

For £155 you can buy a 2m probe and standard LED readout. To get the LCD module, the cost is £215.
